At Ballad Health, we understand how challenging it can be to break free from the grip of tobacco and nicotine addiction. That’s why we’re proud to offer our free phone counseling program: Strong Cessation. This program is designed to assist anyone seeking to become tobacco, nicotine or vape free. Our team of experts will provide the necessary tools and guidance to help you on your quit journey.
As part of our comprehensive program, we assist all eligible patients in obtaining free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). Our Strong Cessation team members can talk to you about the benefits of NRT during our phone counseling sessions and connect eligible patients with free NRT state services.
Ballad Health’s Strong Cessation program provides free telephonic one-on-one counseling to assist anyone in becoming tobacco or vape free. A cessation team member will work with you to develop an individualized plan, support you along your quit journey and continue with you after cessation to ensure long-term success.
With our free Phone Counseling Program, you don’t have to face the challenges of quitting alone. Our dedicated team will be with you every step of the way, offering support, encouragement, and guidance. We believe in the power of ongoing assistance, which is why our program continues to provide support even after you’ve achieved cessation. We are committed to your long-term success, helping you maintain a tobacco or vape-free lifestyle for good.
Here’s how our program can benefit you:
NRT can be a valuable tool in helping individuals overcome cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms. NRT can come in various forms, such as patches, gum, lozenges, inhalers, and nasal sprays. These products are designed to deliver controlled amounts of nicotine to help reduce cravings and ease the transition from tobacco or vaping.
If you wish to incorporate NRT into your tobacco free plan, we are here to help. Our experienced team will guide you in understanding the different types of NRT, their benefits, and how to use them effectively as part of your quit plan. We will facilitate a referral to the state services that provide free NRT. These services have their own eligibility criteria, and if you meet their standards, they will conveniently ship the free NRT directly to your home. This streamlined process eliminates the need for a healthcare provider and eliminates associated liabilities, ensuring a hassle-free and convenient way for you to access NRT.
Please note that the state services that provide free NRT have their own eligibility criteria. Ballad Health’s Strong Cessation program does not determine eligibility for free NRT.
We understand the unique challenges that pregnant women face when it comes to tobacco cessation. That’s why we facilitate referrals to incentive-based programming specifically designed for pregnant women.
These programs provide additional support and incentives to encourage and empower pregnant women to quit tobacco use for the health and well-being of both themselves and their babies. Our team will work closely with you to ensure you have the necessary information and resources to participate in these programs and achieve a tobacco-free pregnancy. Your health and the health of your baby are our top priorities, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
Smoking harms nearly every organ in the body and increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and certain cancers.
Smokeless Tobacco (e.g. chew/dip) contains highly addictive chemicals and can increase the risk of mouth, esophagus and pancreas cancer.
E-cigarettes/vapes contain nicotine, cancer-causing chemicals and heavy metals. These substances harm developing brains and are linked to anxiety and depression.
Women who smoke have a higher rate of miscarriages. They are at risk for complications and for delivering low birthweight babies.
No second-hand smoke is safe. It increases the risk of SIDS and children may be at increased risk of respiratory infections and asthma flare-ups.
