Activities Department at Laughlin Healthcare Center

Laughlin Healthcare Center provides an ongoing activities program for the well-being of our residents.

The Activities Department at Laughlin Healthcare Center provides an ongoing program of activities designed to accommodate the individual resident’s interests and help enhance her/his physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, according to her/his comprehensive resident assessment that is completed upon admission.

Here are some examples of our activities: annual “Senior Prom,” Fall Fests, Family Nights, Sensory Stimulation, Cognitive Therapy, Social Engagements, Nintendo Wii Therapy, Spiritual Support, Nurturing, Creative and Task-Oriented Activities, Support of Self Directed Activity, Pet Therapy, Talent Shows, Bingo, Quarterly Newsletter, Monthly Resident Council Meetings, Indoor Parades, Bingo and Holiday Events.

We also work closely with the community in providing unique experiences such as visits from the Greeneville Astros; dance performances by area dance studios; visits with students from area colleges, elementary and high schools; taxidermy exhibits; cloggers and more. We are also pleased the Tennessee Healthcare Association chose our volunteer group for Volunteer Group of the Year. The prestigious award was presented at the Tennessee Healthcare Association’s annual convention.

Volunteer spots are always available here at Laughlin Healthcare Center. For additional information about our activity program or becoming a volunteer, contact the Activity Director at 423-638-9226 or e-mail at lhc@lmhcare.org.
