Johnston Memorial Hospital Foundation hosts 2024 Boots and Bowties virtual silent auction to support Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center
The Johnston Memorial Hospital Foundation will be hosting the 2024 Boots and Bowties Virtual Silent Auction, set to launch at noon on Friday, Nov. 15, and run until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Originally scheduled as an in-person event, the popular Boots and Bowties gala was canceled due to flooding caused by Hurricane Helene, and plans are underway to reschedule the event for Spring 2025.
In the meantime, this year’s virtual silent auction promises an exciting opportunity to support a critical cause: the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center.
Funds raised from the auction will go directly toward the ongoing needs of the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center, which provides essential dental care to underserved patients in Southwest Virginia who might otherwise have limited access to such services.
Auction items include a variety of unique experiences and luxurious offerings:
- A stunning 3-carat lab-grown diamond ring donated by Goodman Jewelers in Abingdon
- An Alberta, Canada fishing trip for two (terms, conditions, and blackout dates may apply)
- An all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (terms, conditions, and blackout dates may apply)
- A full-day guided fishing trip package from South Holston River Company, including a day with an experienced guide, two South Holston River Company hats, and an RTIC cooler
- Two pairs of men’s University of Tennessee basketball tickets, donated by Food City
- Suite tickets for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 13, 2025, courtesy of Ballad Health
- A round of golf for four at The Virginian, donated by The Virginian
“This auction directly benefits individuals who are in significant need of dental services in our community,” said Dr. Scott Miller, director of the Appalachian Highlands Community Dental Center. “Every bid made during this event helps bridge gaps in care for those with limited opportunities to access essential dental treatment. We are deeply appreciative of our community’s generosity and the support of our donors who make these auction items possible.”
The Johnston Memorial Foundation encourages community members to explore these one-of-a-kind auction items and make a difference through their contributions.
