Niswonger Children’s Hospital invites community to send Valentine’s Day cards to patients

Community members are invited to send a little love to patients at Niswonger Children’s Hospital by sending them Valentine’s Day cards.

Community members can choose one of four designs to send to patients for Valentine’s Day. Cards will be printed and distributed throughout the hospital to all patients, with only the sender’s first name included on the card. Valentine’s cards must be submitted by noon on Sunday, Feb. 9.

“The response to this program every year is outstanding and brings so much love and joy to our patients,” said Chris Jett, chief executive officer of the Niswonger Children’s Network. “Spending a holiday in the hospital can be challenging, especially for kids, so it’s always heartwarming to see our community show up to bring them joy and a sense of normalcy during what can be a very challenging and scary time.”

Community members who wish to fill out a card may do so by completing the form at balladhealth.org/valentines-cards and selecting one of the designed cards. Cards can be filled out for free, and only first names will be included on the card. Due to the volume of submissions, individual requests cannot be accommodated.

“It might seem like a simple gesture, but things like Valentine’s cards can really brighten a child’s day, especially during a scary time like a hospital stay,” Jett said. “No matter the size, every act of kindness makes a difference.”
