Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia, includes a 44-bed acute care hospital, a 109-bed nursing care facility, and a variety of outreach programs.
There are more than 50 physicians serving on our active medical staff.
Services
Smyth County Community offers surgical services, rehabilitation services, women’s services, emergency services, cardio-pulmonary services, most acute care including home health, skilled nursing and long-term care.
Other services include a diagnostic sleep center, cardio/pulmonary rehabilitation and an inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Heart care
We are an accredited cardiac and pulmonary rehab center with state-of-the-art equipment. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to offer more rehabilitative services as well as diagnostic testing to individuals so they do not have to travel to larger more urban areas.

Francis Marion Manor Health & Rehabilitation is a 109-bed licensed nursing care facility providing both skilled-level and nursing facility-level health care services.
MRI
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI, is available at Smyth County Community Hospital.
MRI scanners are used to produce incredibly detailed cross-sectional images of your body without the use of radiation.
Orthopedics
Our physicians offer a full array of orthopedic services, from preventative diagnostic testing to surgery. Our orthopedic certified nurses and experienced joint care team have developed a comprehensive, planned course of treatment specifically for patients undergoing surgery. Through utilization of the most advanced technologies and minimally invasive procedures, we are putting you on the pathway to get back to what you love.

Food
River Ridge Café, located on the Lower Level, is a full-service cafeteria available seven days week. Weekend and holiday schedules may vary. River Ridge Café weekday hours are:
- Breakfast – 6 – 10 a.m.
- Lunch – 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Dinner – 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Gift Shop
The shop is located across from the information desk in the main lobby. Gift Shop has items such as snacks, magazines, flowers and collectibles. Gift Shop hours:
- Monday – Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon – 4 p.m.
Parking for patients and visitors is available in front of Smyth County Community Hospital. Please lock your vehicle. If you need assistance with your vehicle, please notify the switchboard operator, located at the Emergency Department, and security will be contacted.
Low-Emitting, Fuel Efficient, and Carpool Vehicle Parking – 32 parking spaces close to the front entrance have been designated to encourage our guests to be more environmentally friendly.
